The Foundation invests and administers funds to further the aims of the interior design and decoration professions.


Aims & Objectives

The scope of its activities include students, design educators and practicing professionals and include the development of knowledge and techniques.

  • To develop the knowledge, skills and ethics of interior designers and decorators
  • To encourage the study, training and development of future practitioners
  • To encourage the research and development of new techniques, methods and practices of interior design and decoration, in particular in residential design
  • To advance standards and promote education within the profession
  • To promote the teaching of interior design and decoration by the improvement of facilities in educational institutions
  • To promote and assist in advanced training for practitioners
  • To encourage and assist in bringing practitioners from abroad to share their experience with Australian interior designers and decorators
  • To encourage and assist in sending local designers abroad for study or work experience purposes
  • To bring together practitioners and students from Australia and abroad for sharing of knowledge and skills
  • To provide monetary assistance for and establish scholarships or donations to students, interior designers and decorators for study purposes
